PROUD TO BE LOCAL

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS AND A LEAP OF FAITH

Our story started in 2014 with just six sheep in a Salcombe orchard. What was a modest agricultural experiment by two passionate people became a thriving farm supplying our very own butchery and farm shop alongside other local growers, producers and friends.

AS OUR FLOCK GREW SO DID OUR HORIZONS

Over the past decade, our operation has expanded significantly. From those initial six sheep, we now care for over 80 breeding ewes on our own 9-acre property, complete with a barn and the home we built, plus another 50 acres we rent nearby.

A PROPER LOCAL FARM SHOP

Our farm shop and butchery in Salcombe, Devon, is dedicated to bringing you the very best local food, produce and homewares the South Hams has to offer. Always with a focus on sustainability, welfare, provenance and, above all, taste.

CHAMPIONING OUR PARTNERS. PROUD OF OUR FRIENDS.

We are proud to partner with local producers, farms and artisans, from great-tasting local meat supplied by Yetsonais Farm, East Allington, and Spindlewood Farm, Halwell, to delicious local produce from Hallets Bakers, Westcountry Olives and Wild Oats Kitchen Granola to name but a few.

BEAUTIFUL TEXTILES FROM OUR VERY OWN FLOCK

As our flock and butchery grew we faced an unexpected dilemma: what to do with all the wool? The Salcombe Wool Company was born, turning the wool from our own Devon Closewool and Herdwick sheep into our very own range of beautiful homewares.

OVER TEN YEARS ON WE’RE STILL GOING STRONG

We’ve no intention of slowing down in our dedication to hand-rearing our own traditional breed, slow-grown, grass-fed animals, serving the South Hams some of the most sustainable, ethical and delicious meat and produce around.
